Hello again.
You know that I am not only doing this for fun, and I know that I can help you with information I give and sites I introduce you to, as well as saving you money now and again by showing you where to download great software free of charge which you may otherwise have paid for. So why not mention that terrible word ‘money’? Where would we all be without it?
Talking of great sites, I have one to show you in a minute, but first, to finish what I was saying: I have been asked for two things. Firstly more newsletters. I think you have enough as it is so I won’t take that one up. The second is for information on downloadable games which can be purchased rather than acquired through a P2P site, and that is what this extra email is about.
For those of you who are relatively new to the site, you will automatically receive the first few newsletters which everyone gets. These are necessary as an introduction to what we do and the basic stuff we have to offer. You will also receive the ones I send out to everyone. Some of these are time-sensitive so I can’t send everything out automatically at set intervals. You don’t want to hear about the greatest new stuff in about a year’s time!
If you like music, I have come across this great site I want to share with you. I don’t know if you have tried Social Bookmarking sites before, but they can be really good with a great community spirit. This one is specifically for music and is free to join. Both these sites are great if you are a musician and want to upload your work for others to hear and comment on. There are several more which I am checking out at the moment, and will let you know the best (in my opinion) later. Now onto the info.
I’ve been asked if I could provide a list of games which can be purchased rather than downloaded. I do have an interest in games some games companies as an affiliate, and since I get a percentage of the sales price I can pass some of this on to you. I can’t pass the whole lot on since I have a business to run, but here are some selections for anyone who would rather purchase than download.
The ones I recommend have free demos so you can check them out before buying. I have tried most of them and the ones I haven’t tried are recommended by other games players. However, you should get enough information from the demo to let you make a choice. I don't want to be too pushy on sales since I know that not everyone can afford a load of dough for games, so all the games and software I have chosen software has a free demo you can either try online, or download to try at your leisure.
In some cases the demo itself may be sufficient for you. With the audio and video software further down you only really need to purchase if you want more advanced features, but if you just need it for a couple of tasks you have to do, then the free download should be fine.
Since quite a few people seem interested in this I will be putting a page or so on my websites offering direct downloads of paid software rather than through the peer to peer route. Some feel more comfortable doing it that way. For those of you not interested in games I have some other items on this page on which I can give the same 10% discount.
